The amazing Women in my Life

So this is just a short little shout out to my 2 best friends and neighbors. They are always there to pick me up when I am down, force me to use public facilities, lay out in my back yard, shop at the D.I., gather at social functions, and lend a listening ear. These two amazing ladies ran the Top of Utah half marathon today! they have been training for months (don't ask why I didnt do it, I started training with them, but I am really not ready to share my long list of lame excuses, back to them..) I was so proud of them for accomplishing this 13 point something mile race. It truly takes courage, dedication, commitment and a positive attitude. so here's to you Annie and Jaci congrats!

First day of Kindergarten

Well It's finally here. Trever has been the only one going to school for years, today our baby girl started Kindergarten. She is so beautiful. She had her hair pulled back and she looked like Cody, in a good way, they really are related. She picked out her outfit of course. From here on out the fight is on, she wants to wear this, I say she can't luckily its over shoes not short shorts, and mini skirts. She got on the bus with all the confidence in the world, never looked back, it was hard for me, I got emotional. Now it's just cody and I alone, what do I do? It is a good thing to be able to be with him, I wonder what adventures we are all about to embark on as we each head down a new road this school year. Breena is very bright, happy and easily makes friends she will be amazing at whatever she decideds to do.

I am learning to ride my bike!

Rick and I havent been good parents when I comes to teaching the younger 2 how to ride without training wheels, they can totaly do it, but they haven't gotten past the fear, so Rick worked with them today and it was amazing!~

OMG Is this for real? I've only waited 22 months (isn't that an elephants gestational period?)

So without further delay since we have had plenty here is the beautiful bed Ricky started in November of 07. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, now it's just a gift. He has spent so much time into this and it really shows. The kids helped put the final coats of polyurathane! It looks amazing! now I wonder what it will look like in my room? Its HUGE! Finally some freedom to not fall off the bed, it should be big enough for Rick and I (and Breena and Cody and Trever and stuffed animals and ..)

First Day of 3rd Grade

Trever started 3rd grade today, it was weird, he is now in a different school so I am unfamiliar with the layout and therefor not very comfortable. I always hate knowing that in an emergency we are spread out all over. He decided to wear his Transformers t-shirt. I made him ride the bus for the first day. We are close enough for him to ride his bike, but He also needs to know the bus cause he isn't riding a bike in the middle of winter. This is one of his best friends Jayse. They have been buddies since we moved here. I don't have a single first day of school year without a picture of him.

The new set has arrived

Rick decided to put down bark so he spent a good part of today putting down rail road ties, black stuff and bark! I really think it's going work. The playset didn't come until later this evening so we took all the kids to the neighbors house (she fed us) and we played so we wouldn't be stalking the poor set up guys. The men were the first to try it out, it passed and now its playtime. a little side note, I went to the instacare yesterday and it's only bruised not broken, Softball here I come!

Taking down the playset

It is about time! that is all I have to say. After 4 years we are finally replacing the play set. This set was a good set for us! The kids played it into the ground. One of the few problems would be that once you had one this size you really cannot go smaller, they always fought over the swings since 2 swings doesn't work for 3 kids. By this point each time you swinged the set would rock, the wood was so rotted at the base there wasn't any anchor system anymore. on a personal note, it was a bugger to mow around!!! So I started to pull her down yesterday, but as you saw it really didn't work. My foot is so sore, I am still not sure if it's broken or just bruised but it's looking beautiful! I had a million errands to run so I took Breena with me and off we went, Rick and our amazing neighbor Wes (who brought his 3 kids) came and the men worked while the kids played. Poor Cody got stung twice today by bees. They really don't like him much. So at the end of the process, Wes smoothed the ground out with his skidster (kids loved the ride) and we are all ready for the new set wich is scheduled to arrive on Monday! Now Rick wants to know do we put down bark, rubber, sand, rocks or just leave the grass.

Is it broken or bruised?

So I thought I would be ambitious, I am strong and capable, well at least I thought. We are getting a new play set on Monday (hooray) So I thought I would help Rick out and get started on taking the play set down. Rick stopped by for a second to help. We were trying to get the metal rings off of the tube, well he was yanking on one the other slid of and landed right on top of my foot. I cannot remember the last time I cried from pain, maybe while I was giving birth to Cody naturally, maybe not even then. I sobbed like a 2 year old. It hurt so bad, to make it worse Ricky told me to immerse it in ice water, he got a cooler all ready for me and if I could keep it in for 4 mins my foot would go numb and I wouldn't hurt anymore. Problem being each second felt like an eternity, someone stabbing a dull knife into my foot so I never really got the the 4 mins. The pain was so intense I thought I was going to puke, and pass out. I hope it's fine, I really want to play on Wednesday I am not ready to call my season over.

Softball

Our first softball game has arrived. We didn't do so badley, we won the first and lost the second. We didn't have anyone to watch the kids for this first game so we took them with us. Luckily Jaci had brought a box full of shirts, once emptied it became the perfect play place. The kids hid in the box and played around with it the entire 2 games! I am so excited. I actually hit the ball. I one day have hopes of hitting it to the grass!

Timber

We had a pretty strong wind storm the other night and it took down a limb from our big Cottonwood, I am now just waiting for the rest of the tree to go. It is a huge tree, and it's really old. Rick had to go buy a chain saw so we could clean up the mess. He took 3 truck loads of branches to the dump.

cages, then fishing again...

This might become a weekly or bi-weekly event. I really want to work on my hitting so we headed back to the cages, then fishing after. We haven't had much luck catching fish, maybe one or two each time we go. I have gotten much better tying a line though.
