Soccer Practice

Disclaimer: I make mistakes! This year I dropped the ball. I didn't get the kids signed up for soccer in time. They still had openings for Breena but not for Trever. So not only did Breena get new dance cloths and shoes, she got a whole new getup for soccer; cleets, socks, pants, shorts, shin guards, and a soccer ball. She had her first practice tonight. She did so well, or so I heard. Ricky, Cody and I went with her. (Trever the lucky T-dog went to Hill Air Force Base with Jayse; Thanks Annie) Cody wanted to play in the playground near by. Ricky said she had really good ball control and knew the answers to any question given. We spent the day earlier in town getting the gear together I really enjoyed it! She wanted pink everything, we limited it to the Nike mark on her cleets, and the hidden shin guards, she is rough tough pretty stuff! Her first game is next Saturday go TICKS! Yes, she is a tick, the teams are named after bugs you know Beetles, ticks oh well. If it were up to her they would be the princesses.

Don't I look Pretty!

Breena had her dance recital tonight! she loves to get dolled up. We spent almost 2 hours getting ready. She sits so well when I curl her hair. This is the firs time I didn't burn her. Of course her favorite part is the makeup! She looks like a little grown up. Her outfit had little sparkles all over, they were her diamonds. She had been wearing her new tap shoes around the house the last few days, showing us her moves. I rented Barbie Nutcracker, she would put on her ballet shoes and dance around the room. Her grace and skill is really starting to show. She danced so well. Ricky and I were talking while we were waiting for the performances to start, back in the days of her first recital. It was for Christmas, she had just turned 2. Her outfit was a little big, her gloves were so long, she did her own thing to the side of her dance group and faced the wrong direction the entire time, everyone thought she was adorable. When she first started dance 3 years ago I had to hem all of her outfits to get them to fit her petite frame, I bought her new outfits this last week because she has outgrown her old ones, where did the time go? Ricky definatley has had his hearts stollen by her, she's got him wrapped. He brought her a rose, a beautiful red rose. She gave him a huge hug and a couple of kisses on the cheek, when we were driving over to the auditorium I glanced at Rick and he looked like he had been scrateched, there were little pink marks on his cheek, it didn't take me long to realize it was Breena's little lips! He just has the cutest look on his face when he looks at her. We tried a quite a few times to get good pictures of all three kids together, but for Cody a camera means make a face and goof off, Trever followed suit. And yes Breena is a poser, she really should be a super model! on the second dance (ballet) I apologize for the gum chewing, I forgot to get her to spit it out, but she is still adorable.

Let it Snow

I am just about sick of snow, the only thing holding me together is knowing it will melt of in days and soon will be warmer. We came home this afternoon to snow in the back yard. The kids wanted to play! It was so cute! The snow was wet and heavy, but that didn't stop them from rolling balls for snowmen. Each time Cody rolled a ball it would fall apart, the look of confusion on his face is priceless. They are so creative the snowman had pinecones for buttons and leaves for hair.

There is hope for me yet!

I am truly not very good at decorating, by looking at my bare walls you would know this. It is such a big step for me to add color to my walls, but to put something else up is just as hard. I don't have an eye for decorating. So I have had a shelf on my wall since last fall,(thanks Leisa) It has been empty since then except for Christmas where I hung our stocking from the rod. Ricky kept asking what I was going to do with it, I would say put some piney thing up with a few nick nacks. Well after I think 3 years Ricky finally got the deer skin back he sent of to have tanned. He said it just clicked! he hung the skin from the rod, then he went out to the shop and got the antlers from that deer, as well as the remains of another deer. he placed them on the shelf and he loved it. I was really torn, I like the outdoors look, but the antlers alone on the shelf just didn't look right, maybe the carcas was just to white and screamed DEAD ANIMAL. So I broke down and got my piney thing (actually leaves) and some picture frames with pictures from the 2 hunts as well as some other nick nacky things. I am pretty impressed, and the carcas now fits! I have a little concern that guest might think its a bit much, but I now like it as well. What a long entry over a shelf! I included one of the pictures I have on the shelf. Ricky and our neighbor Jared decided to take the boys (Trever and Jayse) out for an evening to deer hunt, Ricky decided if they saw anything with horns he would fill his tag, what fun it would be for the boys to see their first kill. Sure enough they saw a tiny 2 point. Their smiles were huge!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Why are chores so much more fun as a kid? they were fighting over the rakes, the "grown up ones". I wish it was that fun, but my aching arms and blisters remind me otherwise. I am really getting hooked on spring! I decided for dinner to make most of it green, they weren't impressed. We had Green eggs and ham, with waffles and sausage! Breena had dance, she wore her cute little headband! it was a fun easy going day!

Waiting

When Rick has a truck go down of course you take it to the fix it shop! Sometimes Rick can find a ride back to the terminal and other days I get to pick him up. This was one of those days. We had driven into town to get some sucker stuff (thanks Ann for the mold, sticks and bags) We still had about an hour until he would need the ride, the thought of driving 20 mins home and 20 mins back in was to much. We decided to go to the park. It was one of the first nice days we have had in a long time! They played all sorts of things, Breena was mainly a princess or a mermaid. The boys were bad pirates! Captain Skunkpants, or Captain Tooter rooter as we call him (cody) was chasing all of us to see who would turn bad with him. The kids didn't want to leave. I truly miss warm weather, and now I have spring fever. A few minutes before we had to go Trever slid down the "fire" pole and fell, he landed in the water, snow puddle, poor guy was soaked. But that didn't stop the laughing and fun.

Family Sunday

My mom thought it would be a good idea for all of us to get together once a month, and of course it has to involve food, We do a dessert night. It has been so fun to see my family and talk. My grandmother was able to come this time. It has been so very long since I have seen her. The kids played with the Lego's. Cole was determined to join in, I think he would have rather ate them though. I was able to clean through some old things of mine while I was there. Not much for saving, I did however find a love letter from Ricky while we were dating. It was a nice travel back to the past where all things started. I found a neclace my grandmother had given to me, which i have handed down to Breena, she has worn it every day! I also found my Popple! I loved my popple, and now my kids are fighting over her. They all take turns holding, playing and sleeping with her. It was a great evening!

Not so Happy Sushi

I thought I would let my kids try the wonderful delicacy called Sushi, I thought it wouldn't be to much of a stretch, we eat rice 2-3 times a week, they love soy sauce, devour cucumbers and love Ramon noodles. I guess sitting in the restaurant was an adjustment? I should take them out more. I ordered the American sushi (California rolls) They were all kind of weirded out by sushi rice, to sticky and the sea weed rap was beyond their scope of experimenting. The boys loved the Meso soup after the tofu and sea weed were removed. They loved the chop sticks, surprisingly there were no stick fights, just a lot of stabbing at their food. The owners are the sweetest people ever, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Mama brought us out a Sunny roll to try (rice, mango, crab, and cream cheese) When we were done Cody had picked all the crab out, Breena ate all the cucumber, and Trever ate all the Mango. they didn't touch the rice, but the fight isn't over yet!

Popcorn Tree

We were just sitting around watching movies pretty much all day. If you know us popcorn is a staple in our daily lives. Breena my little callepto loves to take the un-popped seeds and put them in her play cups, her purses, lines them against the baseboard along the wall, you name is she does it, well this afternoon she decides to plant them, she needs a popcorn tree. It was such a beautiful day! she goes out back and with the help of her father they plant a few seeds in the grass. back inside to play while the trees grow. in the midst of chaos, screaming, laughing, chasing, tackling, our weekly wrestling match, Rick was able to go out and get an old stick and stab it in the ground, then he turns to me and tells me to pop some popcorn and slide the pieces onto the branches! It was a hit you should have seen their faces! they ate all the popcorn and ran back to play. I must have stocked that tree 5 or six times. by the end of the evening Breena had planted seeds in the grass on the edge of the porch, not just a few but the entire length of the porch. We got lucky with the snow, popcorn trees just don't grow in the snow.
