The Pumpkin Walk

I took the kids to the annual pumpkin walk, I hadn't heard anything from the school as to if Cody was going, and I really wanted them to see all the creative pumpkin art. We went right after school so we could miss the crowd and hopefully the rain. We didn't have to fight to get parking it was great. The kids giggled all the way through. Their favorite part was finding the alien pumpkin man in each scene (kind of like a where's waldo thing) I really enjoyed myself. I struggle taking the kids places by myself, and Rick had to work, but we made it through. Breena got her picture taken with a witch, at first I thought she was fake, but then she moved! They had a bunch of card board cut outs you know the ones where you stick your face in them to get your picture taken, my kids are hilarious!

He got an Elk

So Ricky didn't get an elk the first week end of the hunt, so he headed back up with our pop up trailer to meet his dad and undo this unlucky streak he has had the last few years. he finally got an elk, yeah real steak! I am tired of burger and chicken, but we can't afford to buy the steak we eat rick has to shoot it! Did I just sound like redneck white trash? oh well, at least he didnt hit it first. so it looks as though we will be cutting up meat the next few nights.

Page Family Cabin (who invite the Kliens)

We have been so lucky to have a "Cabin" family. We only see them once a year, not cause we like it that way, but somehow the year just flys by and before we know it hunting season is back upon us. We (Ricky and I) met Curtis while we both worked at Anderson Lumber. He invited Rick to go hunting with him and his family 12 years ago. Rick hasn't missed a year since. Only the last few years have the kids and I made the 4 hour drive. We Love it, the only problem the week end isn't long enough. so all the wives and kids hang out at the cabin cooking while the menfolk are our trying to provide the meat. I truly enjoy spending time with these amazing ladies. I come home with goals to be a better person each year. So I have included a picture of what is being called the magnificent seven (Mark, Doug, Dave, Curtis, Corey, Kurt, and Rick). Corey got his first elk this year, Kurt (who hunts as addictivley and more so than Rick) got his cow elk, the rest just saw chipmunkalopes! The kids (13 of them) play so well together, they never fight or leave anyone out. I tell you miracle week end! We have a variety of kids crafts, they made bead animals, paper air planes, melty bead decore, coloring, puzzles, movies, and all the toys in the play room. I actually have time on my hands so I bring a project oh yes cards to make!

Sighting in

We took the kids up to the range in Richmond, Trever brought is BB gun and Cody brought is binoculars! Breena wouldn't get out of the Truck, to may wasps and bees. We needed to get Ricks gun sighted in before the Elk Hunt. We always get so excited right before the hunt! I even got to shoot the 30-06 bolt action rifle. I shot 4 times 2 in the Bullseye and 2 right out side, but all within the fist. We had a blast. Now if one of us can be that accurate and get an Elk!

Dance

Breena is starting dance already? I can't believe summer is over. She has class with her bestest friend Kambry. They look so cute! (They tried to dress alike) that was about the only smooth thing. Breena should never sit by Kambry this should be a rule I think Miss Lori figured out right away. Those girls are so full of energy and excitement! Lets see what this year brings!

I love Oakley Mae!

I am so lucky! last year I swaped out Cody's preschool with babysitting. I had the most amazing time with Oakley. I watched her go from 1 to 2 and talking and giggling up a storm. Well preschool is so over for Cody, but I still get my mae mae time! I truly have missed her over the summer. So here is to the new adventures to come!

Lets go Scouting!

This year both Rick and I have Elk tags. this should be interesting! We have a tradition for the opening week end of the elk and

we are not going to change that a bit, but the rest of the hunt is now open to suggestion! Rick decided to take Trever up by Tony's Grove and scout around for me. Cody wasn't big enough to go but he was there in spirit and in camo to celebrate! I have the most handsome men in my life!

Playing in Park City

So this would be out 3rd annual Wallace family get together. We have always had so much fun and this was no different. We arrived Friday evening with smiles and giggles. we hit the pool and then hit out pillows. (the nights were horrible, I felt like I was sleeping on lumpy laundry, the beds were small and the kids wanted to cuddle) We headed out Saturday morning in search of adventure and we struck the mother load! We went up to the Alpine Slide and Alpine Coaster. They had increased their adult all day prices by $25 ($70.00 ea. now) to much for us this year so we bought enough for Rick and I to ride each ride once! We were the first ones there so we headed up to the coaster to waite while they loaded the sleds onto the track. While waiting the lead (Martin D) struck up a conversation with us. He was from London (so there was the amazing accent) and he taught snowboarding in the winter and supervised the summer games. He asked how many times we would be riding and we explained the financial situation of their ticket prices. He wips out a blank ticket and writes " All Day Pass 2 adults 3 kids Martin D" and hads the ticket to Rick tells him if he has any problems with it just to let him know! Can you believe it a day free riding all the rides and games we wanted! so off we went. We rode the coaster until the line got to long and Rick was sick. By this point it was time to leave for lunch at the park. We ate delicious food and played softball after. We always have a good friendly game I caught Rick's pop fly and he caught mine~ so after lunch and ball we headed back to the slides can't let that pass go to waste! We rode the coaster again (we waited 1 1/2 hours in line yuck) then we let the boys jump on the trampolines, climb the rock wall and play miniature golf. After dinner we had a family service auction. This was a first and I see it being added in with all the other corney Wallace traditions. Sunday was just plain hot. We swam and hung around the motel then headed home. We always have so much fun!

First Day of Kindergarten

Cody has finally made it to Kindergarten. This was a very difficult thing for me to do. I sobbed all the way home. Somehow with him being my last it really sunk in how far we have come and grown. He is so ready. I just think back to when I sent Trever and how small and young he was and now it's Cody who is that "big" He has Mrs. El-Bakri the same teacher Breena had. She is amazing and I am so excited to see how he grows and learns!

First Day of School

We are in a new school this year Birch Creek. I will have all 3 of my kids in the same school how sweet is that? Trever and Breena start a week before Cody but they all are ready! Trever has Mr. Rigby. I think he will be a good match for Trever he has never had a male teacher before. Breena has Mrs. Freckleton she is new and very excited and ambitious! her room is decorated jungle style. Summer flew by and here we are all a year older. I have the cutest kids!

Lagoon X2

So we went to lagoon and played hard in the water park. The sun was hot and the water was cool. I love to float the lazy river, but it really wasn't lazy. Cody didn't want to stick by me so I was constantly in a panic trying to find him. He was invincible with his tube. The kids laughed so much and finally got past their fear of water on their heads. I really love spending time with them. Rick and I wanted to do some family activities before he heads back to work. After the water park would close we took the kids around to the rides. The first night we were there we stayed with the kiddie rides, the second night (bounce back!) we took them on a few more. Trever, Breena and I rode Wicked, and that it was, I don't think my stomach will ever be the same. Rick was sort of egging Trever on (he was being a wimpy kid about the ride) he said Breena would ride it and how would that look if your little sister rode it and you didn't. well reverse psychology worked and of course mr big mouth can't ride the rides because they make him sick, so I got stuck "enjoying" them. The line was so long I thought they would change their minds but they didn't. Rick was laughing at us when we finished. If he had the camera out to get a pic of our faces, sheet white faces of fear, Breena's hair looked like a static attack, then she screamed whahoo lets do that again. The second time we went, we got all the way down to Farmington, at the gate and realized Cody didn't bring a shirt. We were going straight to the water park and they wouldn't let us in, but at the water park you can't wear a shirt. So Rick had to run ahead and leave me and Code out to Wait, this is the shirt he got him! Hello 60's. I guess it was between this shirt and a grey and pink sparkly one with a girl on the front, I think he should have gotten that one it was 1/3 the price and I guarantee Cody would never forget his shirt again!

I Bloke my arm...

So Cody broke his arm. We went to Bear Lake for the 4th of July, a fun trip right? We went with some friends to their family cabin. We have been before so you think the kids remebered the rules? I must of washed out their ears while we were at the pool. Jaci and I decided to go into town to get a shake, if you are driving to Bear Lake it's required of you to stop and get a shake. We told the daddies to watch the kids and we would be back. Well we got the call that Cody fell off the bunk bed and broke his arm. Rick said he heard a loud thump and nothing. so they went running to the bunk room and found cody in a pile on the floor, Rick turned him over and Cody looked up and said "I Bloke my arm" We were lucky to have the clinic close by with the nices 12 year old doctor you have ever met! He broke his elbow to be exact. We needed to see a specialist as soon as we could. We were then faced with a dilema. to stay or go. we were going to spend the night and go to the lake on the 5th. It had been deemed a holiday so doctors wouldn't be in... so we stayed. Cody didn't want any medicine. I was prepared to sleep by his side in a recliner all night to comfort and medicate him. He slept through the night and got up the next moring to run around with the kids. We spent the rest of the day at the beach. The kids chased frogs and fish. We truly had a great time! We saw the specialist since the break was clean through the growth plate in his elbow they were concerned he might need surgery. But his arm was aligned and all was the best it could have been. I didn't need 2 surgeries in the same week. We alreay had Rick's hernia surgery scheduled. All we can do is hope it heals and he doesn't have a stumpy arm. He picked orange for a cast. A shock to all who know him. I thought for sure it would be blue. He came home with a smile and no regrets! Now lets start signing!

Lets plant a garden!

I love having fresh stuff to eat from my yard. I cannot say I love gardening. I might have been raised on a farm, but it's just not in my blood. I hate weeding! The kids have the funnest time planting stuff and watching it grow! I love to watch Rick teaching them things and to them its not learning its fun. He truly has a green thumb. He is patient and perfect when it comes to planting a garden. And I don't want to hear anything about the shirtless kid and the other one in the jammies. It was a lazy day!

A Miracle he ......

There are so many ways to end this sentence. I will only fill you in on 2. #1 he is alive. Those of you close to me know what we went through last Thanksgiving. It was a horrible night (Breena's Birthday) He survived a horrific accident that to this day I still cannot put all the pieces together and come out with him still being here with us. The most amazing thing is he is a strong fighter. He helped us all through it with his typical laugh and smile. I love him more than words can describe. so onto #2 He GRADUATED College. They let him go! He is now officially grown up! ok recant that. He officially put up with it for more than 4 years. I am so proud of him! Now what to do with all that time?

Lil' Rascals in the parade!

Rick was lucky enough to be asked to drive in the Smithfield health days parade. I think this is so much easier than standing on the side of the road catching candy you really should just throw away! The kids want to ride and wave and we are all Happy! This is the preschool that Cody has been attending. I would recommend it to anyone!!! She had all of her kids show up to wave and throw candy!

Dance Recital #2

We had our second recital tonight. This one was so much work. But when we saw the finished product it was worth every penny, second and tear! I LOVE her outfits! they were sown by the founder of the dance company Nansi Blau (From the Dance Source) I am biast, I took from Nansi when I was younger and now her daughter has taken over and has done impressively! We had her recital at the Eccles Theatre in Logan. It is a beautiful theatre! She danced so very well. I love to watch Ricky's face. He can't hide anything. My sister Ann came! thanks for representing. It's hard to see everyone else have all their extended family come and I pull tooth and nail to get

one to come. it means alot! She performed 4 dances! I will try to get some video up of her. She took this dance class with her bestest friend Kambry. The are little princesses! I loved the design of her personal and class photo's. She had the cutest little guy in her class, his name was Hyrum. He loves to dance and showed up faithfully with a smile every time. I love her toothless grin. She really is growing up so fast.
