I'd rather go to school

Ahh the week end was nice, we stayed in watched a lot of Barbie, ate popcorn, and played. Cody flat pooped himself out and fell asleep on the couch yesterday. Last night as I was trying to fall asleep Rick told me about a conversation he had with Trever earlier that day, it was basically about Trever having to go to Daycare on Monday since school is out. He sort of looked at Rick and said most of this in his whiny voice I'm sure. "I don't want to go to Rachaels, it's BORING, when it's nap time I just lay there and do this (refer to picture)" Yes she still makes him lay down for a nap. until all kids are asleep he must lay there, then she lets him get up and color. then he goes on to say "I would rather go to school than Rachaels." So for the rest of the night I had a hard time falling asleep, mixed with sadness, frustration, guilt and laughter I kept playing over Ricks conversation with him in my head. Of course I got the Look from Rick, but Trever was nice enough to show me today.

Rick and Trever spent a good part of yesterday afternoon putting together T's bionicle. He was so excited to get it, a lot of his friends have them, and now so does he. They had a problem reading the simple, picture giving instructions though, like father like son! Toys these days, boinicles, transformers, power rangers. I never knew so many fighting boy toys were out there.

Can we say haircut. I guess I haven't been paying much attention to the boys need for a haircut. as Rick would say " a dog tag or a hair bow" they always give us a scowl and say haircut. I wonder how much money we have saved by me cutting hair? on the flip side how many more comments/jokes have been directed their way.

As I am writing this post, Breena keeps asking "whens it gonna be me? when are you going to take my picture" so here it is. Isn't she pretty, cause that's just how i wanted it.

Let the Play Begin

I cannot believe all the toys! The kids have been playing non stop. I don't know where to put everything(OK so all these toys aren't new, the big ones are, but to make things more dramatic you have to include it all~right?). I need better organization skills, but even then things never stay put away. We try to keep all the likes together, gun box, dress up box, but it is not working. The kids idea of clean up is throw it on the shelf and call it good. How I wish I could be a carefree kid again.

Christmas Fun

Christmas was such a fun day at our house! the days leading were crazy. We went to my parents for Christmas Eve eve dinner (Tuesday night) We were having our family party this night because my brother Andrew and his wife Leisa were going to her families for Christmas Eve dinner, well they go sick and couldn't go. So I took Cole with me to my parents house. It was fun to be together. The kids were spoiled rotten! Cody got a dump truck the same size as him. He has driven that thing every where since then. Breena was so excited to get a "Lolly Pocket" (She has called them Lolly and Holly, but really it's Polly) Trever loved the tub of Lego's!~ Yea for my house. Christmas eve was the craziest day. I had to work, go shopping, make 8 pies, maybe help Rick deliver (he was getting done past 8 each night, we wanted to see him) I also need to do an over haul on my house, and then enjoy the evening. Well I left for shopping and work, when I returned early I found my garage door open, and a saw table inside. I opened my back door to a few surprised "your home early"s. I found that while in my short absence my sister Ann (who was watching my kids so I could work) had concocted a plan. My brother and her decided to redo my bathroom. I was so excited, Rick and I have been wanting to do this for awhile. They painted over the dark burgundy. Now it is a bright happy yellow! They also put up some paneling on the bottom half of the wall, this part is white. It was so very thoughtful of them to surprise us by this. I spent the rest of the evening crying and cursing. I need another tutorial from my incredible mother in law. She shared her pie crust recipe with me 9 years ago. It seems that as time has gone on my pies are getting worse not better. This year I didn't get a single crust to work out. it was either to crumbly or to sticky. Then to top the evening off my brothers, sisters, and parents came over, we were going to play games, but we sat around, talked, and watched movies instead.

As it has been the last 3 years Santa's elves have found themselves on the foot of my doorstep. They have been so kind to leave jammies for all the kids. A kind friendly reminder it's time to get in bed so the big guy in red can come. Trever got Spiderman, Breena got Dora The Explorer. Hers is the dress kind. She loves the dress kind. Grammy Klien gave her some Kitty Jammie's last summer and she has been hooked, (I am not sure if it's the dress kind or just the kitty Jammie's themselves). Cody got Batman. These cute ones have a cape on the back. He had to run as fast as he could to see his cape flapping. They got so excited they wouldn't go to be. It was worth the try.The kids all left a list for Santa, along with a little pumpkin pie and milk. I think the bribe worked. When Rick and the kids were writing their list Rick asked Cody if he had been super good, he replied "No, I've been super super super super good" so that is what we wrote to Santa.

Christmas morning was a blast! The kids get so excited. We actually slept in until 7:30. Trever came in running and giggling! Let the Paper tearing begin! I swear Santa dumped his sled at our house. They were so excited. Breena was on a paper tearing trail. She would rip the gift open, set it aside and go for the next. Trever would open one, look at it, set it aside and go onto the next one. Cody would open one, look at it, take it out, want to play with it, be told to set it aside and open another. By the end of Christmas morning we were surrounded by lots of gunfire. a few of their gifts were:
Trever; a big fire truck, a transformer (so far the most touched toy), a bionicle (Santa didn't even know what this was), race cars, mini air hockey, cloths, socks, unders, geo tracks, tactical weapons kit (fancy name for toy gun), Nerf set, and of course what he wanted most a 410/12 gauge shot gun. (I hope i got the gauge right on that!)
Breena; more "Lolly" pockets, her second boy barbie, a baby doll that cries and laughs, Barbie movies, a purse with the best kind of makeup (plastic), a lot of new cloths, PAC man game, and shoes.
Cody, a big car hauler, a transformer, Power Ranger Movie, a army boat with a guy (when he opened this he just saw Trever's Tactical weapons gun, and he looked at the boat and said "This is exactly what I didn't want" I laughed so hard, he also asked Santa for lots and lots of guns, the guy pulled through for us, he also got Nerf guns, and M60 rifle, a Tactical Weapons kit (see Trever's list for clearer description), he also got a gunslinger gun (shoots cans off of log) as well as a rescue helicopter, a police car and the usual socks and unders. All the kids got flashlight.
Of course no new toy is good unless Rick approves it. The approval process requires hands on use and inspection by Rick himself. Luckily the kids are used to this and can almost Wait patiently.

For the rest of the day we played and watched it snow, by evening we had accumulated quite a bit. We spend this morning digging out so I could go to work. I think we got well over a foot of new snow. Its my favorite kind, is sparkles, it remind me of the cold Christmans morning when we had to get up a 3 am to milk cows. Everthing was frozen, it was so peaceful and quiet, it is now a beautiful memory at the time however it was not.

Holiday Cheer

This year Christmas has come so quickly I havent really taken the time to enjoy it. I am sort of sad because things always slow down after the holidays and then I will realize all I have missed. It has been snowing a lot the last few days. It is really pretty on the ground, but heavy on my shovel. I am chilled to the bone!

I thought today I would share a few pics of my house. Its the only time of the year when everything is decorated. January is a sad bare month.

The kids have been on creative overload. They love to color with pens, markers, pencils, crayons, soap, chalk, pretty much anything that leaves a trail. The most frequently used phrase at my house is "Where's the white paper" (Code for blank paper, which of course we are out of)

Trever decorated this stocking for School. He is so creative and imaginative. He loves to color and draw. This is a side step to his usual army, or house fires with fire trucks.

Christmas is almost here!!!!!

I cannot believe how time fly's. It seems like I just missed a day or two, instead it's much more than that. I have been so busy with dentists, doctors, work , and Christmas programs. Trever's Elementary had a drama production. (the school won a scholarship) what should have been a 2 hour event turned into 4. Then Breena with dance, they performed for the Williamsburg Retirement center. She wore her Jammie's, I didn't get a single good picture. What a disappointment. So Christmas is just a few days away and Rick and I have done nothing since Nov 10th. So to basically sum this up Christmas is completely undone!! I am taking a more laid back approach. I don't want to freak out. I guess 1 or 2 gifts is better than none. Rick has been working no stop. I really don't like this time of year. The Christmas bribe of Santa doesn't bring gifts to naught boys and girls isn't working. This all feeds into a laid back approach.

Uneventful Day

So today was uneventful. It was "normal" So I thought I would cover some more "past" memories.

Here is our #4. (you know from the movie Multiplicity) Cody is such a "I do it myself" boy.

He had to put the bike helmet on by
himself. Obviously it was on

backwards. That didn't stop him.

He played in the sandbox the rest of the night. It was June, Rick and Breena were planting the garden.

Today he put his coat on upside down. I was so bummed that I didn't get a picture of it. He was so adorable and clueless.

Last summer the boys picked some of the leaf things off of my Iris's. They were sword fighting. it was so cute. Cody finally died (miracle at our house, that boy doesn't die for anything. ) He layed in the grass and stuck his tounge out. I was laughing so hard. Trever then followed suit. They really play well together. Right now they are playing Gorillas on the floor behind me. I LOVE kid laughter.

Target Practice and Princesses

A few weeks ago We got out the good ole Red Rider Rick went out back with the boys. they set up popcans to shoot at, they didn't limit themselves to just cans, they also used 2 liters and milk cartons. Cody had so much fun with that gun. Rick is so proud of his little men.

Breena had a Princess Party. We invited some of her closest Princess pals. We gathered at the Klien Castle. They were so cute all dressed up. We had Belle, Snow White, and Cinderella. We began our Royal bash by decorating Tiara's. They were each so different and decisive on what they wanted. Then we watched Barbie Princess Movies, played Kiss the Frog, and opened gifts. Breena got the Sleeping Beauty DVD. It came with a nail polish and lip gloss accessories. So she took the time to paint the nails of our honored guests. To end our celebration the Royalty was able to decorate their own heart shaped cupcakes. I think there were more sprinkles than there was cupcake. what a sweet treat! Trever was such a big help. We decorated our house with white and pink balloons, streamers, and flowers. Trever created a beautiful Welcome sign. He so loves to draw and color. he is so creative!

Baby Fun

So the last few days our house has been full of baby fun! I have had the best time watching my kids with our neighbors 2 little boys as well as our favorite nephew Cole!!! (Coleman for short) Breena was a little mother hen. She had to be by their side the whole time. Her only concerns were, 1- can I hold him? and 2- is he hungry? (which continues to Can I feed him?)Add Video Both boys were so happy and content the entire time. I could only look at Rick and laugh. Could you imagine? neither one of us wanted to go down that path!

Update for the boys: Drugs are good, and they are gone! Both guys are back to their usual punky selves. Cody took it upon himself to sweep the kitchen floor last night. he was pushing the broom back and forth singing. Backume backume backume, then he would giggle, sniff (from the cold) then sing it again. I love it when little ones think they are so funny! He is his daddys son!

So I had a suggestion (from the only person who reads my blogAdd Image) to back date some things:
so here we go! I will try to do a little each time I post! upload time is killing me~

Today Rick wrestled with the boys downstairs. this is him putting Cody in a Full Nelson! that's my man, picking on someone his own age!

So last week end we decorated our christmas tree. It was the usual fight. "Breena hung another one up before me" cries Trever. "Cody don't eat last years candy canes yuck!" says Mom. We tried to take family pictues. It seems all i get is out takes these days. I might grace you with those picutes another day. I said MIGHT.

This is our lovely christmas tree before we got it home (couldn't you guess) The weather man said it would be a partly cloudy day in the mid 40's. I guess he got that wrong. It snowed on us!

Here is a good picture of Breena's Birthday. After a long day of being snowed on. We came home and had cake. (stale i might add). I cannot beleive she is 5 already. We gave her sensible things like shoes. She did however get a bag full of games. which will answer any questions on what we did for the rest of the night. Princess games are so fun!

Dental Fun Part 2

Well today we were back at the Dentist! It was Cody's turn. I expected some similarites between Trever and Cody. I was wrong. Cody took and instant effect to his meds. He sat in a daze staring off to who knows where. He had a funny sort of grin on his face. Every so often he would sort of laugh. He was so limp. He couldn't raise his head. They had us in a room with big bean bags. he would lay there and watch Charlotte's Web. He had a delayed laugh for everything. it was so fun to watch him try to laugh. He sat rather well through his procedure. he was halucenating (which I was told to expect) he kept grabbing at the air and mumbling. He really stayed rather calm. Now is the fun part. his procedure didn't take as long as Trevers, so the effects of his meds are still lingering. He is so out going and independant it's hard for him to understand that he just can't do it on his own yet. He get dizzy everytime he tries to stand. It's like a new born all over, that is what i am all over him trying to get him to not hurt himself. All in all I am impressed with how smoothly things went.

Dental Fun

Today was so much fun~ Trever had his first fix it visit to the dentist. They gave him an oral sedation along with laughing gas! he was so cute. At first he got really hyper. I thought the medcine wasn't going to work, but after an hour he finally cracked. He layed on the table with a thumbs up during the entire procedure. he tried a few time to pull the clamp from his mouth because he had something very important to say. Finally Dr. let him remove it. Trever looks at him and says (in a groggy sort of intoxicated way) "Dr. Doug you are the BEST Dentist EVER" I could hardly hold back my laugh. He was so serious and genuine. I guess the gas was sort of a truth searum. He was very tender and kind. later on during a rest period Trever once again removed the clamp and asked me to tickle his feet. Yes for those who wondered I did. He had 2 teeth pulled. One was really infected and the other needed out so to make room in his small mouth. The rest of the visit was uneventful. we however did discover he has an amazing memory. He won that game hands down. by the end of the day he was up and running! What a champ. I am so proud of him
