cages, then fishing

We might make this a weekly or daily thing. We hit the batting cages then the kiddie pond. We have dropped a line in and caught a few. its for kids 14 and under but there were plenty of free loading adults helping themselves. The kids would fight for the privilege to put the fish back after it was caught. Rick has also bought Trever his own pole. I think he beat the water more than he sat still. I guess that's how you learn.

Batting cages and the park

I am still a little nervous about my softball skills so we hit the batting cages. We had so much fun, I can hit the ball, I might have found my groove, but with it comes a funny stance, but it works. Trever also tried to hit the medium pitch machine. I was impressed he hit quite a few. after we ran over to the park the kids could play there for hours. I can't say I've seen a park like this in Logan before. I think we will definately be back again.

Finally we meet

Today was a great day! The kids finally got to meet Aunt Dawn, Uncle M.J. and their cousins Ethan, Zeek, and Tatum. They hit it off great at first. Ethan and Trever dove into the legos and Zeek and Cody ran off to the cars in the basement. We were so excited they could stop by on their way back to Washington. We shouldn't wait so long to see them again!

Its Baugh Time!!!

I Love the Baugh, have I ever mentioned that? each 24th of July week end my Family has a huge reunion at the Baugh Motel in Logan, Its the only time I get to see my cousins and their kids. It's 3 days of sitting by the pool and playing games. This year the kids game consisted of paper butterflies, bracelet making and a bug hunt finished off with the annual pinata. The kids were jumping in the pool like no tomorrow. Trever was jumping into the deep end like nobodies business! I was so proud of them. We have come so far in just a few weeks.

24TH of July Parade

Jaci and I decided to pack up the kids and head over to Willow Park for the 24th of July Parade. the kids had so much fun, we were at the end of the route so most of the candy was gone. So perfect we got just enough. Jaci and I have been family this summer going everwhere together. She is exactly what I need nothing stops her from going oout and having fun, her littlest Oakley is younger than Cody so what excuse do I have? So take a good look because there is a reason I control the camera, there are barely and pictures of me! We coudn't get the kids to sit still long enough to get a good photo, so we get a realistic one!

Meet Sherman Convoy Klien

Rick called and asked me how I felt about a fish, I didn't really know not much of a fan. he told me he was thinking about getting one, little did I know thinking meant already got. So now we have a new addition Sherman, Cody picked out his name. He is a red and blue Beta. the kids drew pictures for him so he would feel more at home, I think it worked he stayed in the back of the bowl for a long time. So now we finally have a pet.

Bear Lake

I am not a spontaneous person, I haven't been for years, Cody sort of cured that for me, so pat me on the back I was spontaneous and never regretted it. The neighbors asked us if we wanted to go to Bear Lake, (keep in mind they asked us on Saturday around 3 and we were on the road by 4). We would spend the night at their family cabin and spend Sunday at the lake with their family boat! We piled into separate vehicles boys in one with the boat and the girls in another to set off for food and supplies. We got to the cabin and spend the evening looking at an amazing view of the blue lake. The breeze was so calming. We finished the night with a movie, I don't reccomend the happening. I am so not a thriller movie person to begin with, but I was sort of bummed that I invested so much emotion into the movie and then it went sci-fi on us. I haven't slept that well in a long time. Breena and Kambry slept bum to bum, Trever and Hayden stayed in the bunk room and like always Cody slept with me. I need to get the kids out of my bed, they sneak in about 3 or at least Breena does, we end up all on our sides squished!! ok back to the lake. We backed up to the lake in Jaci's car, popped the back and started to play. I don't think my kids had ever been on a boat before and they loved it. We took the water weinie out, the kids laughed the entire ride, I cannot say the same for me, Justin was set to get his wife and I kicked off that float as quickly as possible! We stayed the entire day and I never once was ready to go. I defiantly will put this on my list of things to do again! Breena and Kambry sat in a puddle for a good part of the day finding shells, we brought plenty home. While they were sitting there a seagull flew in and almost walked right up. I thought the girls would scream or swoosh it away instead they sat there and stared back! We made remarkable strides as far as fear and water, by the end of the day Cody was wading out in the water chest deep, He should have his life jacket on, he took it off because he was done swimming, well at least I thought he was.

Practice doesn't make perfect

This year Ricky and decided to play on a co-ed softball team, I haven't played since I was a youth and have been very nervous about getting up in front of people and hitting a ball (or missing) So we started to hit the ball park, this is the only picture I took, Cody has to bat first, the wood bat goes everywhere with us! I was able to hit the ball at first and it only went down hill from there, I hope I can figure this out, I know it's supposed to be fun but I at least need to be able to hit the ball.

Water Fight

It was such a hot nice morning that we decided to have a water fight! Ann Tan was visiting so that made her an easy target! After the balloons were gone (about 2 mins hard to believe by the picture) we pulled to pool out and had a nice afternoon basking in the sun. This is definately going to be a consistent thing for us this summer. Ricky burnt himself on the chest, we couldn't figure out how, he was only out there for a little while, I guess sitting on a black tube didn't help. I am hoping the kids will become a little less skiddish around the water, they still hate getting their faces wet.

WANTED

So we sort of have a consistent pattern for our week ends! We Play and play hard. This week end the kids decided to make a wanted poster for the outlaw and trouble maker of our family Cody.

I think my favorite part is that Ricky drew the picture. They run around yelling and screaming. I think my little guy is worth more than a dollar though! In the end the outlaw won and all the good guys died!

T-Ball and Coach Pitch

The last few weeks have been so busy with me going back to work (temporary, I am officially terminated) I haven't added pictures of my kids play softball. It's Breena's first year and she is doing better than I thought. They only play 2 innings but that is enough! Trever is doing very well at hitting the ball as the coach pitches. We need to find what postion he is good at and start practicing for next year. The look so cute in their uniforms. Trever is a Giant, and Breena is a Cardinal! we live at the ball park now. the kid have their games 4 nights a week (two games a piece) and Ricky plays softball on Tuesday night, Trever has practice on Saturdays! Trever loves it when Rick has a game that is right after his so we can go watch. His favorite thing in the world is to sit next to dad in the dugout! OH to be a kid again when softball fields are made of magic and spending time with dad is everything!

Pyro's and Posers

4th of July is gaining ground on becoming one of my favorite holidays! The last few years I have done a booth in Lewiston for my Stampin Up! It usually goes pretty well. This year Rick threw a wrench in my plans the night before. He usually takes the kids to the parade in the morning while I set up my booth. Each year on the first week end of the month there is a huge car show; The Cache Valley Cruise in. Well this year the happened to be the same week end, so Rick wanted to go to the car show and I was stuck with the 2 little ones for the day. I set the booth up alright with them running around, thankfully my sister Chris took the kids over to my parents who were watching the parade, when it was over they brought them back, I couldn't have done it without them! The kids couldn't Wait until Firework time, the asked all day! finally it was getting close enough to evening and we broke out the smoke bombs, snaps, and snakes. The evening was perfect, we set up seating in our drive way so Pyro Rick could put on his firework show! We giggle and laughed for hours. The kids would take their sparklers one in each hand and run through the front yard arms spread laughing and screaming Engine one is on fire, were going to crash, oh no engine two is on fire. Soooooo cute! Rick got these I don't know what they were, like sparklers but when you got them close to the ground they left a white mark, so the coloring with the fire sticks began! Trever drew a couple of people and a sun, Cody was a free spirit and doodle all over. So I've noticed for a while, and maybe mentioned it before; Each time I take a picture of Breena she poses! I can't get a normal looking kid picture from me, also she crosses her legs like a lady when she sits. HELLO! she is only 5 stop growing up! She asked when she gets to go the big school that is only 2 months away!

Fireworks

We are way to cheap ok scratch that, way to efficient to pay lots of money to sit in stadium seating with 3 small kids to watch fireworks. We take Big Blue (Ricks Silverado) and park nearby like all the other "efficient" people. We find the right station on the radio and enjoy the show. The kids were so worn out but it didn't stop them from wiggling and giggling! Before we went to see fireworks we walked through the car show that was getting set up for the next day. The kids couldn't keep their hands off, I thought we would get yelled at or even punched at because of it. When we left the show we saw a huge plane fly over. It was one of those planes that fuels jets midair. it was impressive. We noticed it was flying to the airport, landing gear down. we hurried to the car and drove down by the airport but saw nothing, then we say it fly over again landing gear down. then we realized he was just running drills. he was waiting to do his flyby over the stadium! I love the sound of jets. My favorite is when they fly over the house to land. I hope the traffic stays light I don't think I would enjoy hearing that all day. my favorite part of the video is the boys yelling in excitement about the aproaching plane.
