Christmas Fun

Christmas was such a fun day at our house! the days leading were crazy. We went to my parents for Christmas Eve eve dinner (Tuesday night) We were having our family party this night because my brother Andrew and his wife Leisa were going to her families for Christmas Eve dinner, well they go sick and couldn't go. So I took Cole with me to my parents house. It was fun to be together. The kids were spoiled rotten! Cody got a dump truck the same size as him. He has driven that thing every where since then. Breena was so excited to get a "Lolly Pocket" (She has called them Lolly and Holly, but really it's Polly) Trever loved the tub of Lego's!~ Yea for my house. Christmas eve was the craziest day. I had to work, go shopping, make 8 pies, maybe help Rick deliver (he was getting done past 8 each night, we wanted to see him) I also need to do an over haul on my house, and then enjoy the evening. Well I left for shopping and work, when I returned early I found my garage door open, and a saw table inside. I opened my back door to a few surprised "your home early"s. I found that while in my short absence my sister Ann (who was watching my kids so I could work) had concocted a plan. My brother and her decided to redo my bathroom. I was so excited, Rick and I have been wanting to do this for awhile. They painted over the dark burgundy. Now it is a bright happy yellow! They also put up some paneling on the bottom half of the wall, this part is white. It was so very thoughtful of them to surprise us by this. I spent the rest of the evening crying and cursing. I need another tutorial from my incredible mother in law. She shared her pie crust recipe with me 9 years ago. It seems that as time has gone on my pies are getting worse not better. This year I didn't get a single crust to work out. it was either to crumbly or to sticky. Then to top the evening off my brothers, sisters, and parents came over, we were going to play games, but we sat around, talked, and watched movies instead.

As it has been the last 3 years Santa's elves have found themselves on the foot of my doorstep. They have been so kind to leave jammies for all the kids. A kind friendly reminder it's time to get in bed so the big guy in red can come. Trever got Spiderman, Breena got Dora The Explorer. Hers is the dress kind. She loves the dress kind. Grammy Klien gave her some Kitty Jammie's last summer and she has been hooked, (I am not sure if it's the dress kind or just the kitty Jammie's themselves). Cody got Batman. These cute ones have a cape on the back. He had to run as fast as he could to see his cape flapping. They got so excited they wouldn't go to be. It was worth the try.The kids all left a list for Santa, along with a little pumpkin pie and milk. I think the bribe worked. When Rick and the kids were writing their list Rick asked Cody if he had been super good, he replied "No, I've been super super super super good" so that is what we wrote to Santa.

Christmas morning was a blast! The kids get so excited. We actually slept in until 7:30. Trever came in running and giggling! Let the Paper tearing begin! I swear Santa dumped his sled at our house. They were so excited. Breena was on a paper tearing trail. She would rip the gift open, set it aside and go for the next. Trever would open one, look at it, set it aside and go onto the next one. Cody would open one, look at it, take it out, want to play with it, be told to set it aside and open another. By the end of Christmas morning we were surrounded by lots of gunfire. a few of their gifts were:
Trever; a big fire truck, a transformer (so far the most touched toy), a bionicle (Santa didn't even know what this was), race cars, mini air hockey, cloths, socks, unders, geo tracks, tactical weapons kit (fancy name for toy gun), Nerf set, and of course what he wanted most a 410/12 gauge shot gun. (I hope i got the gauge right on that!)
Breena; more "Lolly" pockets, her second boy barbie, a baby doll that cries and laughs, Barbie movies, a purse with the best kind of makeup (plastic), a lot of new cloths, PAC man game, and shoes.
Cody, a big car hauler, a transformer, Power Ranger Movie, a army boat with a guy (when he opened this he just saw Trever's Tactical weapons gun, and he looked at the boat and said "This is exactly what I didn't want" I laughed so hard, he also asked Santa for lots and lots of guns, the guy pulled through for us, he also got Nerf guns, and M60 rifle, a Tactical Weapons kit (see Trever's list for clearer description), he also got a gunslinger gun (shoots cans off of log) as well as a rescue helicopter, a police car and the usual socks and unders. All the kids got flashlight.
Of course no new toy is good unless Rick approves it. The approval process requires hands on use and inspection by Rick himself. Luckily the kids are used to this and can almost Wait patiently.

For the rest of the day we played and watched it snow, by evening we had accumulated quite a bit. We spend this morning digging out so I could go to work. I think we got well over a foot of new snow. Its my favorite kind, is sparkles, it remind me of the cold Christmans morning when we had to get up a 3 am to milk cows. Everthing was frozen, it was so peaceful and quiet, it is now a beautiful memory at the time however it was not.
